The GSEU team took part in the Global Energy Transition (GET) Conference 2025 in Rotterdam with a dedicated session on the Pan-European Atlas of Sustainable GeoEnergy Capacities. Held on 30 October, the session drew around 40 participants, mostly academic geoscientists, many of whom were learning about GSEU and the European Geological Data Infrastructure (EGDI) for the first time.
Speakers Francesco Pizzocolo (TNO, GSEU Program Manager), Tjerk Heijboer (GEUS), Maayke Koevoets (TNO), and Ceri Vincent (BGS) introduced GSEU and EGDI before diving deeper into the Atlas and its future evolution. The panel discussion, moderated by Renata Barros (EGS), focused on how open feedback and collaboration can help improve this Europe-wide resource for the energy transition.
GSEU will continue its close involvement with EAGE activities and the wider energy community, helping connect geological knowledge with Europe’s clean energy ambitions. We thank EAGE for yet another excellent conference!
