This position paper highlights the essential role of geological data, expertise, and advisory services in accelerating the sustainable deployment of geothermal energy across Europe. It calls for long-term structural investment in a Geological Service for Europe to provide the scientific foundation, digital infrastructure, and policy support needed to reduce investment risk, improve permitting, and unlock geothermal potential in support of Europe's clean energy transition.
